Three Valuable Videos You Really Should Watch on YouTube

The recommended videos below are not, as you probably guessed, TV shows, films, or funny cat videos. (Those are more likely to show up on my “Heroes and Aliens” blog or my Facebook feed.) Rather, these involve discussions about Bible/theology and/or cultural/political issues. They are all free to watch on YouTube.

The first one was a live discussion between independent researcher Billy Carson and Christian apologist Wes Huff on Mark Minard’s show back in October 2024. To be honest, I’m not sure which was more frustrating to listen to: Carson’s faulty claims and obvious misunderstandings of how historical research and textual criticism is done OR Minard’s painfully awkward and misinformed questions and commentary. The former was more important, of course. What makes the video worth watching, however, is Huff’s gracious and patient explanation of how such research is done by actual professionals and his corrections of Carson’s claims.

For a lengthy follow-up discussion Huff had with Joe Rogan, check out “Joe Rogan Experience #2252 – Wesley Huff”.

Next is Allie Beth Stuckey’s lightning-round discussions with 20 liberal “Christians” on a number of cultural/theological issues on Jubilee’s “Surrounded”. While everyone involved was frustrated with the necessary time constraints, they still managed to have good and respectful discussions. Stuckey is to be commended for taking on all comers, as it were, on a variety of controversial topics, staying (mostly) focused, and giving another example of a conservative Christian remaining gracious and patient in such interactions.

For a 15-minute commentary by Wes Huff on one particular segment of Stuckey’s, go to “Does the Bible say that? Reacting to @AllieBethStuckey’s Jubilee Surrounded Video”.

On a side-note, prior to seeing some of the press Stuckey’s appearance received, I was not familiar with “Surrounded”. Apparently, they have had several 1-vs-XX shows, including episodes where the “1” was Charlie Kirk, Jordan Peterson, Michael Knowles, and others. I may have to find time to watch a few more…

Finally, the third video I’m recommending is from a special episode of CrossPolitic Live, in which the panel discussed “How The Church Gave Us Communism (ft. Chad Jackson & Jeff Durbin)”. Personally, I thought there was just a tad too much goofing around by some of the panelists, one in particular (whom I was unfamiliar with) may have had a little too much whiskey beforehand. Regarding the special guests, I am familiar with Durbin because he is co-elder of a church with James R. White (and a couple others), as well as his leadership in the abortion abolitionists movement. I like and respect him, though I don’t hold that position. I have become aware of Jackson thanks to his many Facebook reels and YouTube videos talking about MLK Jr. and his Leftist legacy. It was Jackson’s contribution to this panel that made it worthwhile watching for me.

Those videos should prove quite instructional and give you a few things to chew on!

Happy New Year! See y’all in 2026!
